Ora vejam a lista então:
15 - Shrek Forever After
Studio: DreamWorks
Release Date: Summer 2010
There still seems to be a huge appetite for the green ogre's antics if Shrek The Third's box office takings are anything to go by. Luckily fans of the franchise can look forward to more post-modern fairytale gags next year, only this time on IMAX 3-D. All the old gang are back, including Mike Myers as Shrek, Cameron Diaz as his hot ogre missus and Antonio Banderas as Puss-in-Boots.
14 - The Three Musketeers
Studio: Impact Pictures
Release Date: 2011
Resident Evil helmer Paul WS Anderson's first entry on this list - a 3-D update of Alexandre Dumas' classic swashbuckling tale revolving around the 19th century French fighting force. Said Anderson: "We are definitely modernizing 'The Three Musketeers' without compromising the fun of shooting a period piece. But in our film, corsets and feathered hats don't take centre stage. Our version is rich in eye-popping action, romance and adventure."
13 - Alice In Wonderland
Studio: Disney
Release Date: March 2010
Like Marmite or Cristiano Ronaldo, Tim Burton is someone you either love or hate. Fans of his though will doubtless be delighted that The Nightmare Before Christmas and Sweeny Todd director is turning his considerable visual talents to Lewis Carroll's trippy fairy tale. The thought of Johnny Depp - once more in creepy mode as the Mad Hatter - in three dimensions is making us slightly scared however.
12 - A Christmas Carol
Studio: Disney
Release Date: November 2009
Director Robert Zemeckis is a great lover of modern technology, having pioneered CGI in films like The Polar Express and - back-in-the-day - mixing live action with animation Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Having experimented with CG 3-D in 2007s Beowulf, the forward-thinking helmer is having another go with this adaptation of Charles Dickens' perennially popular yuletide fairytale. From what we've seen so far this adaptation is going to emphasise the thrills and spills in the text, but will people stump up to see yet another version of the story?
11 - Cars 2 (Rumoured)
Studio: Disney
Release Date: Summer 2011
John Lasseter has been doing the rounds talking up Disney/Pixar's upcoming slate of movies recently, showing up first in London and then at the D23 expo in Florida. Cars 2 was one of the big titles announced, and with the animation supremo declaring 3-D to be the future, we're around 90 per cent certain this sequel will be in the format. As reported earlier this month, the plot will take Mater (the hillbilly tow truck who was the funniest character from the original), and place him in a European setting. Expect American abroad jokes.
10 - Night of the Living Dead: Origins
Studio: Simon West Productions
Release Date: Unconfirmed
A 3-D reboot of George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead that has us scared for a number of reasons. According to reports this will update the classic zombie-apocalypse of the original while at the same time detailing the character's back-stories.
However Dead series mastermind will not be involved (although if his latest effort is anything to go by, this might be a good thing). Instead newcomer Zebediah De Soto will direct the project as "an American-style anime" - we're not sure what that means either. He'll use an effects system called 'The Beast' - which apparently allows filmmakers to direct CG performances as if they were real life actors. We'll probably wait and see on this one, although zombies in 3-D can't help but make us excited.
9 - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Rumoured)
Studio: Warner Bros.
Release Date: November 2010
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince: An Imax 3-D Experience broke box office records in the US for the big-screen format, which means Warner Bros. will almost certainly repeat the trick for Harry Potter the Deathly Hallows. Only the opening 12 minutes of Prince was in Imax 3-D, so here's hoping more of the penultimate Potter will be filmed in the high-def, immersive magic.
8 - Spider-Man 4 (Rumoured)
Studio: Sony
Release Date: Summer 2011
Not all the projects on this list are confirmed 3-D yet, and the chances of Spider-Man 4 being in the format is still mid-to-low at present. Fans will be heartened however by an interview given by Sony head honchos Amy Pascal and Michael Lynton (to Slash Film) earlier this year. When asked if Spidey 4 would be shot in 3-D, Pascal replied: "could be". Lynton went on: "People are paying a premium to see movies in 3-D and that's a very big deal. It's never been done before that someone says you have to pay more to see Spider-Man than a romantic comedy." Lets keep our fingers crossed, as Spider-Man in three dimensions would be awesome.
7 - Resident Evil: Afterlife
Studio: Sony
Release Date: Summer 2010
A second outing for Paul WS Anderson on this list, with the Brit director having seemingly fallen in love with the immersive format. IGN spoke to him at SDCC back in July, where he told us that RE4 will be a "bigger and better Resident Evil. They're giving me more money to make it than ever before, we're going to do it in 3-D, using the same camera equipment used by Cameron on Avatar, so I think it's going to be new and improved."
6 - Halloween 3
Studio: The Weinstein Company
Release Date: Summer 2010
Many fans were less-than-satisfied by Rob Zombie's re-imagining of the classic horror franchise, so it was no surprise that after part two came out in the US, producer Bob Weinstein announced they would take the series in a new direction. Besides a new director who could bring a "different take" to the story of masked psycho Mike Myers, it was also announced that - possibly in the wake of the success of The Final Destination - the next Halloween will be in 3-D. Watch this space.
5 - Toy Story 3
Studio: Disney
Release Date: June 2010
Not only is Disney re-issuing the first two Toy Storys in 3-D, they're also shooting the third instalment of the series in the format. IGN was lucky enough to see the first footage from the new flick on both sides of the Atlantic last week and suffice to say was impressed. According to our journo on the spot, it was "hilarious stuff that retains the charms of the originals, and looks to be a worthy addition to the Toy Story cannon." So there you go.
4 - The Adventures of TinTin: Secret of the Unicorn
Studio: Paramount and Columbia
Release Date: December 2011
Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson are throwing their considerable creative talents behind this series of movies based on the be-quiffed Belgian reporter Tintin (with the Jurassic Park director helming part one). The films are being shot using 3-D motion capture technology, which will see computer trickery overlaid on actual human performances. Jamie Bell is in the title role, whilst the awesome supporting cast includes the likes of Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg and mo-cap vet Andy Serkis that played Gollum on the trilogy The Lord Of The Rings.
3 - Tron: Legacy
Studio: Disney
Release Date: December 2010
It was confirmed at the end of last year that this sci-fi sequel would be in 3-D - we would have been pretty upset if it wasn't. The teaser footage (replete with multiple Jeff Bridges') went down a treat at SDCC, and for a sequel to a film that was not exactly commercially successful at the time, Tron 2 has been generating a hell of a lot of interest. Director Joseph Kosinski has produced some visually amazing commercial work, so we have high hopes for the flick.
2 - Avatar
Studio: 20th Century Fox
Release Date: December 2009
It seems much of Hollywood has decided that having seen bits of James Cameron's sci-fi - 3-D is the way forward. Despite a lukewarm reception for the trailer, buzz around the 16 minutes of footage shown last month has been much more positive, with the complex 3-D work promising to - just maybe - live up to the director's bold claims. Nice though it looks however, doubts remain as to how many cinemas worldwide will be able to show the movie in its preferred format.
1 - Iron Man 2 (Rumoured)
Studio: Paramount
Release Date: May 2010
Rumours that both the original Iron Man and its sequel woudl be released in 3-D first emerged on Aint it Cool News at the beginning of the month. Their sources seem fairly certain that Jon Favreau's hotly-anticipated sequel to last summer's Marvel uber-hit will be transferred to the format via a (apparently rather costly) 3-D conversion process which has been used on Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.
This hasn't been confirmed by studio Paramount but Iron Man in 3-D makes sense on all kinds of levels. The franchise's mix of action, humour - and the prospect Scarlett Johansson in a cat-suit - is why Iron Man 2 is numero uno on our list. Make it happen!
